A Girl and Her Craftbox Designs
In 2010, I found myself stationed in Hawaii, with a lot of time on my hands on weekends and after work, as my husband was a US Marine and was gone quite often for training in preparation for a deployment to Afghanistan. I always loved to craft and decided to start my blog as a way to justify my creations, and a short time later, on the advice and encouragement of my friends and family, I decided to open my shop.
I began selling countdown blocks and military inspired wreaths. I started selling on base and within 2 years, my shop was selling over 100 pieces on base as well as all over the country through my Etsy shop. In the fall of 2012, I was honored to be contacted by Military Spouse Magazine to create a wreath for their December 2012 holiday cover.
I have big goals for my shop, and although a lot of my items are military inspired, I would eventually like to expand my wreath line to other events and occasions. I want to create, sell and donate a portion of the sales of these wreaths to causes like breast cancer awareness, March of Dimes, and of course, the Wounded Warrior Project since supporting our troops is so near and dear to my heart.
